Your Sports Rehabilitator is Karen Hankey. Karen graduated with a BSc(Hons) degree
in Sports Rehabilitation in July 2004 from Salford University. Since graduating Karen has worked with Chris Norris in his Congleton clinic, and had also worked within a number
of large blue-chip industries in the North-West. In this setting Karen has treated all manner
of conditions and patients from computer-based to manual workers, amateur to professional sports men/women and children to the elderly.
As well as clinical work, Karen has a main interest in football. She has worked with both semi-professional men's and women's teams and a Premiership academy. This has involved pitch-side cover and also injury treatment and rehabilitation to return the players back to full fitness. She is currently working with NCEL Division 1 side Scarborough Athletic Football Club on match days.
During her years as a Sports Rehabilitator, Karen has attended many courses to expand and cement her knowledge. She is able to provide acupuncture as a treatment for muscle spasm and pain. She has also learnt new diagnostic, treatment and rehab techniques which help to provide the best treatment possible for the patient.
